Closed at COP 72,800 on COP 31.6 billion traded, the day’s top volume. A gain backed by volume carries more weight than a thin-market pop.
The weakest local stock. Liquidity is thin, so small orders move the price. It reports results Friday, Oct. 30.

The COLCAP gain was narrow and came from holding companies and banks, not from Ecopetrol. With Brent near $115, the oil major should be a natural winner. Its failure to rally says investors still apply a heavy political-risk discount that oil prices alone cannot offset.
The peso told a different story from Wall Street. It weakened on a day U.S. stocks rose, a classic pre-Fed pattern when U.S. yields sit near 5%: money trims emerging-market currency exposure first. A hawkish Fed could extend that; a calm one could reverse it.
The 2,500 support held, but on modest volume. Technical defenses without volume tend to be fragile.
What to watch Wednesday
- Fed decision at 1:00 p.m. Colombia time.
- How the peso and Ecopetrol react to the Fed and Brent.
- Microsoft and Alphabet report after the U.S. close; Nutresa reports Friday.
